Those of us descending into the dark winter of the northern hemisphere have been grumbling about our loss of daylight. Today’s painting is from a glance out the window at about 5:30pm yesterday. It was a cold, windy day. Not a pleasant, blustery autumn wind; no, just sharp, cold, biting wind. The sun had set about an hour before, pulling a heavy grey blanket over the city. Warm yellow lights were glowing from the apartment buildings in the distance. I was grateful to be warm and cozy indoors.
