I’m a dedicated introvert and, if given a choice, I almost always choose to spend time alone.

Well guess what? I received the gift of some time entirely alone. And while I enjoyed it quite a lot, part way through, unexpectedly, I felt a slender barb of loneliness enter my heart. It was unfamiliar, and elegant.

I still enjoyed my time alone, but with an added barb resting in my heart.
